Mothers will always be mothers.
A 98-year-old woman decided to move into a care home, not because she couldn't take care of herself. This kind and feisty nonagenarian did it so that she can take care of her 80-year-old son who needed to be taken care of.
In 2016, Tom Keating moved into the Moss View care home in Huyton. Within a year from him becoming a resident there, his mother, Ada Keating also moved in. Even at the age of 98, she couldn't stop being a mother to her oldest child.

The two of them, originally from Wavertree, were described as being "inseparable", according to a report in 2017 by Liverpool Echo. Tom, who never got married, had been sharing a roof with his mother all his life and is glad to have her close to him at the care home.
The mom knows that her son is needing some extra care at the moment. So she ensures feels safe and comfortable through the day. "I say goodnight to Tom in his room every night and I’ll go and say good morning to him," Ada said at the time. "I’ll tell him I’m coming down for breakfast."
Talking about them staying in the care home, Tom said, "They’re very good here and I’m happy to see my mum more now she lives here." No matter how old you are, your mom's loving care and attention can do you a whole lot of good. Tom is a great example of this.
Ada also makes sure she balances her time between her own needs and those of her son. "When I go out to the hairdressers he’ll look for me to see when I’m coming back," Ada went on to say. "When I get back he’ll come to me with his arms outstretched and give me a big hug. You never stop being a mum!"
The two also display the typical scenes that are bound to happen between a mom and son. At the age of 80, Tom still gets cutely scolded by his mother. "She’s very good at looking after me," Tom said. "Sometimes she’ll say 'Behave yourself!'"

He's one out of the four children that Ada shares with her late husband. However, one of her children, Janet, passed away at the age of 13. Tom's sisters, Barbara and Margi, are regular visitors of the care home, who come accompanied by other members of the Keating family. They, too, can see how happy the two of them are to have each other in the care home.
“There’s no parting them!" said Debi Higham, Ada's granddaughter. "It’s reassuring for us that they’re both getting looked after 24/7."
Seeing their relationship is heartwarming for the staff at the care home as well. "It’s very touching to see the close relationship both Tom and Ada share, and we are so pleased we were able to accommodate both of their needs," said Philip Daniels, the manager at the care home. "It’s very rare to see mothers and their children together in the same care home and we certainly want to make their time together as special as possible. They are inseparable."
