This Is The Scariest Bridge In America And It Leaves Motorists Terrified.

Do you have a fear of heights? What about someone you know? Have you watched the look of panic cross their face when approaching a high place or have you felt that terror yourself? I’m not afraid of heights, but my mother is. Her fear and vertigo are so severe that even watching views from cliffs or high places on the television screen makes her sick to her stomach. When she’s in a tall building, approaching a window is absolutely paralyzing.

Growing up on the east coast of the United States, a popular summer activity is spending time at one of the many beaches up and down the coastline. I spent nearly every summer as a child with my grandparents in their small summer home in Ocean City, Maryland. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but going to and from our beach vacations involved crossing “the scariest bridge in America”.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge is more than four miles long and rises to 200 feet above the water at some points. When driving across it, it feels rather narrow and high winds can be incredibly dangerous—on windy days, the bridge actually closes. Frightening as it is, there are some people who drive the bridge every day on their way to work. In addition, during summer traffic, there is a chance you could be stuck on the bridge for hours.

There are others that refuse to drive it at all. Most people manage to white-knuckle it across, possibly holding their breath for much of the way. But for those who just can’t do it, there are folks like Alex Robinson of Bay Bridge Drive-Overs. For $25, Alex will drive you across in your car, and he has plenty of takers. It’s easy to see why!

Watch the video below to see the bridge for yourself! Share it with family and friends and give them something to think about! Would you drive across? We would love to hear from you in the comments!
