Meet Mark Higgins and Becky Szenk, a British couple
who just wanted to move closer to to Mark’s place of work.
Being relatively young, their contacts list came a
little lacking when it boiled down to having everything moved, so 22-year-old
Becky did what many others have done before her – she went to Facebook for
help. She quickly discovered a moving company that appeared to be very
professional, with a good looking website and plenty of positive reviews. So,
Becky decided to contact them and offer her business; a mistake that’s haunted
her ever since.
She ended up talking to a man that let himself be
known as Lee Green. His company looked professional and his ‘movers’ we’re all
friendly according to her, so everything appeared to be as it should. Well
apparently this wasn’t a moving company at all, but a scheme set up to take
both your money and your household goods.
Within 45 minutes they’d taken everything the young
couple had.
“I’ve never cried so much as I did on that day. I
feel so distraught because they’ve taken my engagement ring and even the baby’s
toys.”
I feel sorry for these people, and not just because
their things got stolen. It’s just terrible knowing there’s people out there
willing to do anything just to take advantage of someone. Hopefully with the
word spreading we’ll be able to help this couple find their things!
